Background

I wholeheartedly believe in the power of visual storytelling to convey a brand's essence and ethos. Collaborating closely with companies, I immerse myself in their unique aesthetic, ensuring that every shot encapsulates their values. Shooting for brands, restaurants social media feeds, and personal chefs. I strive to convey the ambiance and flavors that patrons can expect to savor, creating a bridge between the culinary world and the eager diner.

Going through a full UX/UI process to deliver them websites that showcase their business and institute a creative vision.

Process

The process for shooting starts with a sit down with the owner and person in charge of social media and conducting a brainstorming workshop.

  • Discussing the look and feel for the shot.

  • Do we want the shot to be dark and moody or light and airy.

  • Creating a shot list.

Shot lists

For creating shot lists I like to use milanote a great place to list shots required, descriptions of each shots and notes we spoke about during the meeting. All being notable to add comments by me and the and creative team involved.


On location

When i’m on location I like to discuss anywhere I can get creative adding more style to the shot. Communicating any ideas I have with stakeholders.

  • Discussing different color choices and surfaces.

  • Relaying any decisions made with the head chef who’s preparing the food and drinks and giving me ample notice on anything coming out.

  • Deciding on interior shots, so that customers can invision themselves in the restaurant.

 

Photographs

During photography there’s real time editing, color corrections and adjustment. All files are crafted with the visual identity of the restaurant and brand then the raws are next:

  • Taken into Capture One for image correction.

  • Then photoshop for editing retouching.

File handoff

During the file hand off and exchange we usually get on a call or email and discuss all the files that will be delivered. Double checking all images.

  • Some clients can even request a screen recording on details of everything we’ve done.

  • For transfers there will be created a dropbox, google drive, weTransfer or another platform to handle the files since they could be so big in bit depth compression.
